Adjusting to the Dark

Initially this song arrived as a bit of a comedic thought about a song title. Imagine introducing a song in this way, "This song is called, "Did it just get brighter in here?" I just thought it would be funny if the audience weren't sure if that was the title or the singer thought the light in the room had changed. But that's how my mind works.

From that starting place this song took years to fully emerge. So many interesting ideas to explore about light and darkness. The situation that presented itself with the Covid pandemic really made this more poignant. It seemed the whole world was trying to make sense of what happened like after a difficult night of sleep, and waking up and adjusting my eyes to function in the the darkness of the morning after.
